Words

At Noah's last doctor appointment, the doc asked if he could say at least 20 words. I think so, but now I'm curious as to how many he knows. Here's what he can say at 18 months:

  1. mama
  2. dada
  3. dog
  4. bird
  5. moon
  6. ribbit
  7. moo
  8. papa
  9. nana/banana
  10. drink
  11. more
  12. thank you
  13. bye
  14. hi
  15. hooo-hooo (owl)
  16. No
  17. ah-ah-ah (monkey)
  18. airplane
  19. tractor
  20. truck
  21. do-doooo (rooster)
  22. duck
  23. too-too (train)
  24. Elmo
  25. elbow
  26. ball
  27. baby

And he knows these body parts
  1. eyes
  2. nose
  3. ears
  4. mouth
  5. teeth
  6. head
  7. hair
  8. knees
  9. fingers
  10. hands
  11. toes
  12. feet
  13. belly
  14. chin

Na-night time

Mommy was so tired tonight, she didn't even have enough energy to rock the chair. So instead we went to my bed to cuddle. After about 10 minutes of wallering and banging his head against my hip bone 3 times he finally settled down. He feel asleep with his head resting on my leg. It was so sweet. He had the whole bed to lay on, but he picked me for his pillow. Sweet mama's boy.

Entertainment at Gee Gee & Poppy Dave's

Noah was such a character at Gee Gee and Poppy Dave's house tonight.

Papa tried to get Noah to say "please" so he could have another bite of cake. Noah looked right at him, got in his face, stuck his finger out and shouted "No way!"

Later Ryan was telling him to pump his arm while saying "Yesssss!" Noah did it and caught his elbow on his high chair tray. "ooow!" he said and tried to turn his elbow around to see what hit him. The look of confusion was hysterical.

Poo Poo

Poo Poo is the next big thing to hit the Lankard house. (I can't believe I'm actually blogging about this...)

Last week was the first time Noah sat on the potty and actually pooped in it. The rationale side of me said to not expect a repeat of events, but there was this little bit of hope holding out inside. Hope is still disappointed.

Although, just yesterday I called Noah over to put on his shoes to go outside (two of his favorite things). He ran right up to me and said, "I go poo poo!" So off to the potty we go, unfortunately just a little to late...but it's a start.

Now that he's discovered poo poo, you had better make sure you get the bathroom door closed all the way. Ryan discovered this the hard way.

While Ryan was trying to take care of some business, the pitter-patter of toddler feet came barreling down the hallway and barged in on his bathroom session. Noah was so excited he tried to push Ryan out of the way and kept cheering "Poo poo! Poo poo!" and clapped his hands for daddy. Who says enthusiasm isn't contagious?

Tender Moment

I was totally beat when I got home from work tonight. I laid down on the couch to "rest" (anyone with an 18 month old knows there's really no such real thing). I had momentarily closed my eyes and I felt this little body grunting and groaning his way onto the couch. I thought for sure I was in for a beating. Instead Noah laid his head down next to me on the pillow. And in an unusual pause of business, he stopped to kiss me before wallering his way down. It's those little moments you have to pause and remember.

Hot Summer Night

What is better on a hot summer night than running through the water hose!? Noah spent about 15 minutes running back and forth through the water. It was a good reminder of what summertime is all about.
